Is transfer case the same as the transmission? I read somewhere that if your car has a lot of hp your t-case will blow?

The transfer case is seperate from the transmission, and can be swapped independent of the tranny. And Torque kills parts, and harsh unforgiving launches.

Currently the Transfercase is replaced as an entire unit, its not considered servicable.. Its a catch22 though, if you blow a transfer case, the dealer might suspect abuse and possibly deny warranty on it anyway. In all honesty, its pretty hard to break a a transfercase with the stock clutch, and if the car is driven properly, these parts hold up well..

At some point in the near future, you will see rebuilt units and upgraded units...

transfer case is what drives the rear wheel drive , it would blow before your transmission does
