yet another victim of EVO vandalism
I doubt your insurance will put an aluminum/Carbon fiber roof due to liability issues.
If your car came with a stronger steel roof than aluminum, then that's what you'll have.
Even if you have a body shop that will swap it for you. They have to put additional, heavier reinforcements so it won't cave in if it ever rolls over.
It's a good idea though.

It'll be great if you can replace the stock roof with an aluminum piece. According to a BM video, it seems like the 2005 roof panel is stapled/stamped onto a supplementary roof rail that's not part of the '03-'04 roof assembly. Make sure the body shop is capable of making such a modification. Best of luck!

24 hours after the fact, i just want to make it whole again and repair the damn dents.
I'll weigh all my options, the CF roof idea would just be freaking sick....
kind of like that BMW M3/GT3 car they are bringing over to the states?

Aluminium roofs are standard on the 2005 Evo models. The hardware is already out there, and all you would have to do would be pay the difference in price of the materials for the aluminium roof over the metal roof.

$600 bucks for the damage, of which most is labor. 3 days in the shop, I'm calling insurance monday to see if my rates will go up. At least I don't have to pay a deductible for this one.
