Anyways, I already signed the contract and paid, etc. I kinda think I want the SSL package now. Will the dealer let me add this? Or will I have to negotiate again ? I havent picked up the car yet, just dropped off the check basically...

 

I wont buy one without the Leather. Hell if I am going to pay 30K for a car it should atleast have leather. Its not like they give the US the nice black Recaros the euros get. Plus with the HIDs its tough not to get it on the 05.

 

I had leather in my last car and about 90% of the cars my parents have ever owned had leather in em. Not to say I'm sick of leather seats, but I find that the regular ones have a nice feel to them... that and I hate sitting down on leather seats after the car's been sitting in the sun. The leather recaros ARE nice and they do hold you in just as well as the regular ones, but I love the two-tone look and I'd be awful sore if the leather started cracking or if I tore it. As far as any regrets.. I regret not waiting and saving to get the MR and I regret not having HIDs or fogs. Although I prefer the feel of a 5-speed, I wouldn't mind a 6th on the highway. Sound? I was never a car audio guy, I'll slap on some decent speakers, already got a head unit that has a red display and I'm fine. Whether the sound was really really really clear or if it was just really clear or just clear, I could never tell the difference. I wouldn't mind a sunroof, but all the cars I've ever driven with a sun/moon roof, I've always kept it closed. I guess it would be nice to have that open breeze during the summer, but that's what AC is for. And think about it this way, if zombies ever took over the planet, the sunroof would just be one more breakable portal to get into your car.. that and they could just climb up on it and maybe shatter the glass by their body weights.

 

It must be a personal feel thing, because I don't understand the appeal of leather.

Perhaps with me being from a rather dry and cold state, I really hate to get into a car with leather seats without seat warmers. My legs feel like they are going to freeze off. That, and I feel like I'm going to slide right back out before I get the door shut and the seatbelt on.

The EVO is built the way it is because of its racing heiritage.
