So after looking around, a Black SSL IX is out of the question.. there isnt any anywhere! I guess there are only 2 on order and 0 in-stock throught the western US, and there scheduled for delivery in like 2 months. I can't wait that long!

So my question is, are there any IX owners out there that wanted SSL but settled for the regular IX, and do you miss having or regret not getting the Leather or the Sunroof?

If i do get the regular IX, it will have the OEM H.I.D's and fogs installed.

Im kinda torn, and i want the car so badly so lets here some opinions on people who went threw the same thing im going threw.

Wow you're really local. Which dealerships have you gone to? What kind of pricing were you given? My friend just bought an MR for $33.5k before tax and license at thousand oaks mitsu. Only $500 more than south coast will sell it for. So I guess they're decent. Last time I was there they had a good selection.

For me.. a sunroof would have been nice.. but the MR was more worth it. I didn't like the look of the leather seats or the leather on the doors. I'd much rather have the standard leather/alcantra seats. The lights are nice though.

 

I have an VIII with SSL and I absolutely love it. I personally would wait the two months and get what you want. I know it's hard, but you won't regret it. The leather is very classy, I really enjoy the moonroof, the stereo is very nice, and it comes with HIDs already. Two months is nothing compared to how long you'll spend regretting it if you just settle.

 

There are no HID or Fog lights on the regular IX

 

Sorry to hear about the lack of Black SSL IX's out there...hate to rub it in, but my dealer has a beauty right on the showroom floor-on a positive note, it was so f'n pretty. gl

i know theres one here in oregon going for 33

i thought south coast mitsu would have a few since they stock up on evos

 

There's one here at Capital Mitsubishi in San Jose, Ca. Then again, they're crooks so good luck with that. You're only 3 hours away, so it's not too crazy of an idea to drive here.

SSL stands for Sun, Sound, and Leather. It's a package for the regular GSR and it includes leather, sunroof, HID lights, and an ugraded sound system. Hence the name Sun, Sound, and Leather.

 

FYI: Quality Mitsubishi in Denver, CO has a NEW 06 IX Black with SSL. If you want a name and phone number, hit me back.

 

I just picked my tarmac black IX SSL from Huntington Beach Mitsu on Easter Sunday. Wow, I didn't know that the color was that rare. I had wanted a blue one, but all they had on the lot with SSL was the black.

FWIW, you should wait for the SSL if that's what you want. The leather is really nice on those Recaros. I mean really, really, really nice... Everyone who's seen my car has commented on how nice the seats are. And everyone who's sat in it don't want to get out of the car!

I just had my black 9 delivered...couldn't wait for white to come in, black with options is hard to find for some reason, they all come with no options (like mine) and the white only comes with options...weird but oh well.

 

Well enjoy the car. The dealership I went to when I got my car only had 1 regular GSR and 1 RS. The remaining 8 were MRs or SSL IXs. Nothing in black though.
