cabin noise

Just bought an evo and a day later, I'm already hearing rattling coming from where the windshield meets the deck on the passenger side.

Is this normal? Should I not be complaining because it's not a benz? Or should I drive it into the Pacific Ocean?

Mine is rattle free, maybe because the roads are smooth here. It could just be some plastic piece around the glove compartment.

I've had this same noise from day 1. I've driven two other Evo's and they both had the same noise. I can't seem to find the culprit. If anyones does, I'd like to know the answer to this one too!

It's normally either the window wiper blade or the plastic trim that runs vertically along the edge of the windshield on the outside of the car. Had the noise when I bought the car but it's disappeared now and been replaced by 4 other rattles/creaks.

are you talking about where the trim hits the windshield? If you push that up and towards you, it will stop...but once you let go, it comes back

I had the same noise when my of 04' was new! I also had this mysterious sqeaking noise interminttenly. I took it to the satan(dealership) and his response was "You're driving the meanest and baddest car, so you gonna hear some...".

Sure enough, those rattles and sqeaks went away after a month or so. Car just needs to settle or maybe I can't hear them anymore after my turbo back exhaust!

enjoy and don't worry about it...

did u get the MR?
MR might have noise from the aluminum roof, but it actually is coming out from the windsheild, because that's where the noise can physically come out.

i like what spyder said... i think the car just needs to settle as well. i used to have a rattle in the same spot only on the driver side, but all has been forgotten or situated after a few months. or both.
