Now you know what it's like to be a minority in the USA sometimes...
Negative, it has not gotten me into trouble. The only thing that's gotten me in trouble is me. I haven't received one ticket because of the EVO.

Evo's get you into trouble when you pass someone, then a 1 ton truck decides to pull out in front of you. Now when local country bumpkin John Law with something to prove sees a 24 year old kid in a fancy car with a smashed front end that just broadsided poor ol' Cleatus McGillicutty, he decides to sight you as well because your pass was "unsafe..."
How is it unsafe you ask?
Because an accident happened right after it, or at least that's what the county magistrate said when I fought my citation...
F%$k the law! Cops are *******s.

I got pulled over the other night in Warwick NY. I was just leaving my friend's girlfriend's house (great sex) and i saw lights up ahead. A cop had pulled over a 3000gt. I thought whether or not to drop the car into 4th to make it more stealth. I pass by the cop (who was outside) going about 33-35mph. The speedlimit was 30. A few moments later i look up and sure enough my suspicion was correct. He pulls me over and asks me why i went speeding by him. I was confused and i told him i did not. He said, are you sure? and i said, again, yes officer, i didnt speed. He's like, so you werent speeding and i said, no officer, i was going 35. He says, whats teh speed limit? 35 i say, 30 he replies. I look at him and he gives me like a gestured look and i said, ok? and he just stares at me. He then tries to convince me that i was smoking weed and that i had weed in my car. I started losing it. Then he goes on to tell me my muffler isnt stock and how it should be changed. He goes to his car and comes back and says its my lucky day, get your muffer fixed. F u. Read my plates.
I have been totally ignored by law enforcement for the year that I've owned my Evo. I attribute that to:
1. Removing the carbon fiber wing
2. Replacing the Altezza-style tail lights with JDM units
3. Generally obeying the speed limit
I have a Rally Red Evo, and have been repeatedly told that red is the most frequently ticketed car. A little research (in anything that can be consider remotely scientifically controlled) shows that red is a distant third, with white being the overwhelmingly top color car being cited with speeding. Black is second, and not even close to white. Of course, this probably means that there are more white cars on the road than any other, but those are the raw numbers, for whatever it's worth.
Moral of the story? The Evo is a flashy car. Cops are humans, and are attracted to flashy cars. If you tone things down, you stand a better chance of being given the benefit of the doubt. At least, in my opinion.

I've been pulled over in my girl's stock automatic civic more than I've been pulled over in my EVO. It's all about the way you drive. You can be going 50 in a 35 past a cop or even right next to a cop without being pulled over. If you're accelerating, you'll be pulled over, but if you go "stealth" mode as posted above (upshift) or are cruising at a constant speed, chances are you won't get pulled over. Don't try it at home though. It was probably just my luck. Or maybe it was my tinted windows that saved me. Nah, it was the way I was driving.
WOW...locals cops just give me a little stares every now and then...but never been pull over...and my exhuast is loud as hell...in my town usually u get pull over if you give them a reason...i think thats the main thing..DONT give em one...i mean they could pull me over for my echuast, but i think they rather write a speeding ticket or something...
one time...i was late for work and there was this quick left turn..took the turn then i went WOT in 2nd gear...right after that there was a traffic cop there...omg did he give me the death stare...i pretented to just pay attention to the road...lol..but he could nail me for that....
oh and i drive a yellow evo...you can hear and see that thing from a mile away...
