I currently have a GTI and (knock on wood) on never get in trouble at all as far cops or anything. My car is completely stock with NOT even tint. Cops always like to look at cars and judge. My friends got a WRX and hes always in trouble and mostly he doesnt do anything. All he has is an exhuast and BOV and even if he's doing the speed limit the cops will still come up with some excuse. Since the EVO (with the huge spoiler) is a big cop magnet, what kind of experience can you relate with the cars you've had and with the EVO ragarding it being a cop magent. Another words, do cops give you a hard time and do you feel scared driving by a cop with your EVO instead of something not more FLASHY.

 

In the 5 months that I have owned my EVO I have only recived long stares from the local police.

 

Just long looks, smiles, one middle finger, questions, and compliments here.

 

No tickets in the Evo...yet...but I did have one very close call last year...I can't really go into detail on here because we are not allowed to post about street racing, but let's just say I could have gone to jail and lost my car and license, but the cop just gave me a royal butt chewing and let me go...WHEW!!!

 

RS --> Nobody, law or otherwise, ever really notices me. I'm surpised you're friend with a wrx gets bothered in gurnee. I thought IL was pretty lax with such things. I see so many obnoxious cars in chicago that mine looks plain in comparison.

Never got me into trouble, but did get me out of trouble a few times.

 

In Wisconsin I had so many problems. Since I moved to Vegas no problems at all. There are 2 reasons why I don't have problems here.

1) Cops have goals in the Vegas area. So there is no pressure to give out a certain amount of tickets to keep there job. A cop in Milwaukee, WI once told me he needs 15-20 tickets each month in order to make his quota.

2) The cops have more important things to do than mess around with people driving cars with large wings.

Every cop I saw in WI would stare me down I have not had one cop do that to me in Vegas. I must have paid close to 1,500 in fines in WI for tint, exhaust and no front plate. In other words I hate Wisconsin. This is one reason I was happy to move.

 

106 in a 55 it a class a misdanenor hehe....other than that not toooo much trouble

Never had any problems, but if you do a search, there have been plenty of people that had unfortunate experiences with the police.

 

ehhh not really so much as a second glance really from the cops in florida... got a ticket once for going exactly 10 over... cop told me it was either me or the semi and i was the easier to pull over..

 

Never had any problems yet, just some long stares and alot of envy looking people.

 

My Evo2 exhaust gets me pulled over more than anything else. I just pray my car doesnt smell like smoke. Gettin arrested sucks.

one for 73 in a 50 and another for exhaust... and about 4 or 5 other times and no tickets... the cops say that its at random but they are terrable bull****ters... they see wing and clear tailights and they follow me for like 5 miles waiting for me to go .1 over the speed limit....

 

More than you could imagine, and more than I care to admit.
