If you've drove a STi before that is what the 05's feels like. The stock 05's feel like a turbo back exhaust with a piggyback torque wise.

I just don't think the reward is big enough for the average guy driving on the street. Maybe if you guys tracked your cars a bunch? I have a dedicated race car, so I drive my Evo fairly sanely and not at the track any more.

Dave - post what you decide to do. I would imagine (similar to my car) your private sale or trade in would only be $22k or so...... so it will cost you $8k or so to upgrade, assuming you can talk a new one down to $30k even.

Why not spend $995 for the Buschur racing Stage 0 upgrade? You will be faster than the MR & have saved $9K. Your present car has enough miles that you know its not a lemon, who knows how reliable a new car would be?

Just wait for the IX, it will have everything the MR now has and then some. I think the IX is a 06 model so it should be here in mid 05.

odd that a guy from DC would go to lancaster.... did you buy the black one they had in 2003 with the sunroof for $2k over msrp back then? I was #1 on the list and bought the silver one from them in March 2003.

I only have 15k on mine so I see no reason to swap just yet. Unless you are tracking the car i doubt the differences are that noticable......even if you are tracking the car it takes a pretty good driver to notice anyway.

I make my own living and pay everything myself. I see your views on this topic but if you can afford it why not enjoy life and do whatever makes you happy

Scot, have you ever auto X instead of running on an open track? The fact is that tire pressure and alignment makes the world of difference alone. I can't imagine how huge a difference the front LSD/ACD combo would make! It will be difficult for the average auto X driver to drive a 03 evo faster than 05 in A-stock?

I bought a new 05, but if I had an 03 I wouldn't trade. That can become a very expensive game and I do not think the incremental improvements are worth it. I can't imagine trading up everytime a new improved model comes out.

I live in baltimore. And my car is tagged in PA so buy getting it in PA they added the tax, tags and all the bs into my payments. And they were the dealer I could find with a black 05.

i don't enjoy auto-x more due to wasting and entire 8 hours to run 4 runs....but i can at least beat all of the local Porsche Club goons in my ****ty 2003 evo.

I would agree that the front lsd *should* help some, but not sure about the ACD....unless you had an auto-x on gravel or snow.???

For the average guy though, i doubt it will be much of a difference....... i saw 996 Twin Turbo's running 2-4 seconds slower than me on a 1 minute course! Even if those guy upgraded their cars they would still suck....

ACD works well in auto-x. I've experienced it the following week that I purchased the MR. in tarmac mode map it just does not push. in gravel mode it tends to understeer slightly. I did not try snow mode. Even in rainy condition, I was using the tarmac mode and it worked like a charm.
