Thumbs up Clutch Gone! Aww Shux!

Wassup everyone, well I was out driving today, and me and my friend decided hey lets go make some more footage. So we head to the spot! Pouring Rain by the way. I start off drifting 2nd sometime's 3rd. Then it's time for some AWD 360's. I have never seen a car that can pull such G's. I swear i was implanted in my seat going around, and around, and around, atleast 3 times! I could barley lift my arm to shake my friends hand as we were whipping around!( videos and photos soon!) I stopped and shut the car off, and got out. The car was filled with white smoke from the tires. we let the car chill for probably 20 minutes. I got in, put in first let go of the clutch abd Nothing! I could fully disengage the clutch in any gear, and no movement. haha . My car has 8,882 miles on it. Sounds bad right? Well after getting a hold of my friend from a local part shop, he can get me a http://www.optauto.com/index.htm?sto...r=ACT-MB7-HDSS. Very good price. So that was the main problem getting a new clutch, after this I remembered the dealership had called me two days prior and told me my new synchro's were in for 2/3 and 4/5. So I was like hey since you have to pull my tranny for the synchro's, If I bring a aftermarket clutch in, will you install it? They said they might have to charge me and extra 20/ 30 min labor! HAHAHA! Thats so sick. Im getting my Synchros changed and a stage 2 clutch for less then 5 d-prez's. I am so fortunate that this went out now.
OK I know what your thinking. OMG 8,000 miles! As you can probably already guess, I treat my car like an Evo is made to be treated! And all I have to say is if you guys out there that have these things and don't really drive them, like they are made to? You are missing the entire point of owning one of these magnificent cars. I have a few friends that have s4's and are such babies to do anything in thier car, because they are afraid to break something. I fully stand by my car and its Maint. rep Yea the dealer wont cover my clutch. big deal its a $500 part. and how cool is that they are going to throw in the clutch im bringing them.

Anyway I just wanted to say I still love my Evo to death. So what if thier cheap *** P.O.S of a clutch sux. Mod up and enjoy. Other than the clutches going out in these cars. I think they are perfection! Go to a wet parking lot and just see exactly how much it takes for the car to break traction. its sickening! This car is so safe. I can't say enough

and people wonder why Mitsu void their warranties

If something breaks, I hope you don't come here complaining or go to Mitsu and ask them to cover it.

Yes, I know its fun to beat our cars, but Mitsubishi made cheap parts that our cars break by just adding an airfreshner or a Boost guage.

Sounds like you had fun though

whatever floats your boat.

Talk to Dru at logic performance. He's on this board. he'll give you a killer deal on the ACT HDSS 2900 clutch with street disc.

I got mine for $480 shipped overnight.

If the dealer installs your clutch, they wont cover your transmission, and engine, period. But i got mine installed at the dealership with a master mech who's done 4 to 5 clutch installs for a very good price.

good luck and let us know when you blow your transfer case. lol make sure you have your video with you when that happens. i haven't seen a video of evo's transmission going out yet, but you look like the person who will and be happy about it.

If something breaks, you should come here and talk about it, because that's what this forum's about.

What part are you talking about breaking that's cheap? Clutch isn't cheap part, it's exedy single disc. It's made that way so the people wont blow the transmission and the t-case.

i'm actually glad that they made it that way, otherwise a lot of people wont have a transmission anymore.

Mitsubishi voids their warranty because they're broke and it's really expensive to fix evo's compare to lancers. and mitsu is broke. I'm sure most part is the owners but something that's factory defect isn't being warranties either.

That's the biggest problem, because of the mods we have on our cars that didn't cause the problem are causing warranty to be voided.

People have complaints about that and not anything else. I've seen mitsubishi replace t-case and transmission 3 times on a stock evo before, so that's not entirely true. The kid dogged it with 3000 miles in it and still burnt it out 3 times.

I think its great that you have extra money to blow on clutches. Since you don't have a problem buying new clutches would you buy me one too? I promise to pay you back.

My warranty will be voided after Visnu's Stage 2 anyway. What do I care I didnt buy this car for it's "warranty!" And I feel sorry for anyone who did. You guys are missing the entire point of this thread. I could care less about my warranty. I bought this car to enjoy it. Not to freak out about every little thing that may go wrong with it. And Complaining? whose complaining? I stand by my car! It sure sounds like you dont "plokivos".People that are more concerned about a warranty, or parts, dont even deserve this car. Screw em!
