2005 Evolution 8 doe's not come standard with HID's ??

What the hell....I thought all the regular evolution 8's and the MR's came with the HID's. Please tell me they do, and the thing is, you can't even choose it as an option at the website ? What the hell is going on ?

Nope. Only the '03 came with HIDs. Only the MR stock comes with HIDs now. But I believe some dealership can add the HIDs as an option.

It might be more depending on the dealership. Well look at it this way. You loose the HIDs but you gain more hp (not alot though) and the ACD and limited front diff.

Are you sure you want them so badly? The regular lights are still very bright. Consider it. The HIDs bulbs are quite a bit more expensive to replace when they go out not to mention how much heavier they are.

They came standard on my '04 too. But I guess they're an option now.

imo hids make the car look nicer and u can see the roads at night a lot better, i cant imagine owning a evo with no hids , the car would look a lot cheaper without them

HID bulbs are supposed to last longer then the car from what I have heard, there is a big difference in halogens and HID.

I will never go back to regular lights,so much brighter and better to see the road.

yeah I was just at the dealership, the Sound/sunroof/leather package is an extra 3k and it comes with the 3 items above and HIDs. I'm coming from an 03 where the HIDs were standard, so its something i really don't want to downgrade from. The added weight with this package is only about 75lbs according to mitsu (not as bad as I thought).

LOL....are you serious? How often do you have to change out headlight bulbs???? With my old car I went up to 100k w/out ever changing them out. And I hope you are not referring to the bulbs themselves in regards to the weight part...thats too funny. Have you ever held an HID ballast? Its not heavy at all. I love the oem HIDs....nothing beats the oem HID projector housing.
