DETROIT (AdAge.com) -- Finbarr O'Neill, co-chairman and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors North America, has resigned, according to executives close to the matter.
Mr. O'Neill joined Mitsubishi in September 2003 from Hyundai Motor America, where he helped turn around that brand as its president-CEO. Today is the beginning of the end for Mitsubishi Motors. Finbarr saw the writing on the wall and realized it is a dead cause. Dealers are dropping dead like flies, executives are resigning, and they do not have any decent product in the pipe line that is going to save them.
I agree it is the beginning (or actually the middle) of the end for Mistu NA. I have been saying that a chapter 11 bankruptcy filing is imminent, even BEFORE I bought my '04 EVO RS 3 months ago. And I am a bankruptcy lawyer.
But I love the car. RRE can take care of it. I doubt if Debtor MMNA will honor my warranty while in bankruptcy, so what do I need them for?
Just be glad you got your EVO before they stop selling Mitsu cars in the USA completely.
