popping exhaust

can someone tell me what makes an exhaust do popping sound, thanks.

Yeah, you get unburned fuel in the exhaust and the hotness ignites it.

sweet. mine used to do that on high rpm when the boost used to taper down after peaking at 21 psi.

too much fuel, get mbc or ems and it'll work.

i have a br stg 1 with no cat and a magnaflow muffler and i notice that at idle it sumtimes pops, y is that

popping in exhaust can also be due to different velocities of gas coming through your exhaust.

you know what, i forgot the technical explanation. lol, but i know it has something to do with the gas velocities changing when you let off the throttle that can cause the popping noises.

Yeah, just run straight pipes and you'll get some popping lol. I've got straight except for the muffler, but when I take the muffler off it makes a nice sound, no popping tho..

it's just left over gas from your engine going back to your exhaust and igniting.

turbo Back does this well if not tuned.

anyway, nothing to be concerned about, it just means you're running a bit rich.

No fuel return line!

Yay, I now know that I'm not running too lean ...also if there's a rattle, just incase, check the stock heatshield for the stock exhaust...mine was resting ON my TBE and rattled really bad
