I had to use mine that way last year and I went through a set of Advans. Now my truck is back on the road and the Evo is my toy again. The evo is not the worst car for a daily driver but that kind of usage is not the best way to wear it out. Had I needed a daily driver I would have kept my "00" Eclipse GT as it was much better suited to that purpose.

For the 37k miles I owned an Evo, it was my daily driver. I drove it daily on a 50 mile commute. I drove it across the country. If you don't mind the lack of cruise control, and the slightly stiffer than normal ride, the Evo makes a great daily driver.

I have a honda Civic that I bought for a daily driver, and so far I still drive the Evo every day, no matter how good or bad the weather.. Its the best car I've ever owned..

No. It is basically a racetrack and sometimes-on-the-weekend car. I drive it to work about once a week too. While my daily driver S4 was out of commission for several weeks, I did drive the EVO every day. It is a great car, more fun to drive than the S4.

I love my RS! It's a traffic bullet! Nothing like dropping a gear and dusting traffic during a hectic commute. It makes driving to work fun. I only wish it wasn't 20 frikin degrees outside for the next 3 months.
