raising the stock seats

Has anyone tried to raise the stock seats? I think the driver position would be better for me if the seats were an inch higher. Does anyone know how to do this? Maybe put a metal plate between the seat bracket and the floors?

i just had my sparco installed today at rmr... great experience... used a lil trick that you might find useful. between your sliders and your seat... use a large nut (big enough for the bolt to pass through without threading) and that will give you a half inch more, try that first... and then see based on that what else you wanna do... wouldn't stack two nuts... you'd prolly have to use washers after that. you might have to get a new longer bolt to pass through the spacer nut and to hook up to the seat the same.

i don't know how to drop the seat...

Wow I can't believe people need to raise their seats. I'm 5'7" and I feel too tall in the seat already.

Well, I'm 5' tall, maybe 5'1" on a bad hair day, and so I do like having my seat higher than most!

to the original poster: If you go with the sparco route like someone suggested, Sparco makes a slider for their seats, and side mounts as well. the side mounts give a lot of flexibility in moving the seat up and down. If thats not enough, Sparco also makes an adjustable side mount system which allows a little more forward positioning and a little more height. Its in their catalog. The slider with the adjustable side mounts is what I have. Works great for me! Maybe Recaro has something similar.
