i would say the ralliart is better than stock, but that's my personal preference... stock sucks... it's nothing but a nub... it's light and it's still slippery. the best non metal shiftknobs are alcantara ones. the ones that are full alcantara... but i can't seem to find any. so the razo ra104 is what i'm getting.

i like my ralliart.....a bit heavy than stock when u hold them in hand....which also make the shifting a bit better, IMO.

I just picked up an oem 6-speed MR leather shift knob from Europe to swap with my stock metal one. Like you guys said, the stock one feels way too cold on cold days.

On a different note, does the metal MR shift knob unscrews off like the regular leather ones? Has anyone remove their's before? Thanks!

Where did you purchase it and for how much?

I bought it off some guy who couldn't find a buyer on ebay. I paid a total of 15 pounds shipped. Comes out to around $28 bucks. The knob itself was 5 pounds and brand new. The rest was postage.

hmmm...wish i could find a direct leather replacement.

i ended up going with the Momo Racair knob. Put it on last weekend and I'm still trying to get used to it...not sure if it's for me.

The stock knobs just simply screw on and off...they're a real pain to get centered though (ie. gear diagram facing the back).

Back from the dead....

Anyone have the OEM leather 6-speed knob like this guy or know where to get one? I'm having a hard time tracking one down.

Man, OG thread...I use a metal knob from FRPP in my Mustang, it is cold in the winter and hot when it sits in the sun, but you're not supposed to rest your hand on the shifter, just touch it when you shift...it's not so bad, I deal with it. I wouldn't mind changing back to a leather one for something different.

Anyway, someone mentioned leather driving gloves, does anyone else use em? Where can one find some nice ones?

My wife found a damm cheap solution for the hot in summer cold in winter shift knob issue. She bought me a baby sock. It's black, blends in nicely with the interior. One of those infant socks from old navy. It even says 3-6months (baby age) I can't remember what is costs but I'm guessing less than a dollar maybe? Works perfectly. I pull it off once the knob gets warmer. No gloves needed for those who don't like the feel of driving with them on.

The sock sounds like an interesting idea...how much does it move around on the shifter? I just wanted to try a pair of driving gloves to see what they were all about. I can see myself getting annoyed by them, but who knows. Still looking for a nice pair, if the price is right...

Tell you the truth, if you really want a pair of 'driving gloves' that you won't care about losing, Mechanix Gloves are the way to go! I use them all the time for non-track driving( I have a pair of IronClads for track duty).
