I have a universal carbon Ti exhaust and it doesnt sound beefy or throaty during idle or acceleration. What is it? I have 3inch piping and a test pipe but stock downpipe and stock header and stock camshafts. i want the rumble whats affecting it. Could the BOV possibly affect it if its too tight and not releasing enough boost?

 

Check all connections, clamps, a leak is a possibility somewhere.

 

no.. the throatiest sounding exhaust for the evo is the perrin IMO.... this isnt' a flat engine like the wrx and sti, and will sound throaty.. unless you get cams, but thats not even throaty its just a loppy idle.... I have a Ultimate Racing exhaust, its got a LITTLE rumble, but its nothing great..

 

anyone with a Carbon Ti have feedback on this? Or even audio of a evo with a carbon Ti. I mean my exhaust sounds really quiet. Not even noticable that its aftermarket. Its very quiet. I've heard carbon Ti's on my friends Supra and it rumbles very very nice. I wanted that and got 1 and now im disappointed. I only got the muffler itself, no piping cuz i already had 3in piping

I've heard carbon Ti's on my friends Supra and it rumbles very very nice "... a supra's sound, vs a evo's sound... is your friends supra a tt, i mean on different cars it will sound differently, you put your exhuast on an sti or wrx it will rumble, its all the motor it just enhances the sound of the motor ( kinda )

 

I have the Helix exhaust and I think it sounds damn deep for a flat four. I've gotten numerous compliments. I'm completely satisfied with the sound.

yea thats why i was wondering if any1 has a link to audio of a evo. i know the v6 difference and what not. so i was wondering if something went wrong during the install and messed up the sound of it. also, would camshafts help the rumble?

buschur sounds good, but HKS sounds like buschur.

i have magnaflow, sounds deep and quiet.

that and really the resonator that you have on your pipes determine how loud your exhaust is, as well as your packing materials/design on the exhaust.

if you take those bulges/resonators off of your exhaust, your car will sound a bit deeper.

but not like mustangs. Our cars exhaust notes a bit higher.
