are your parents ready for the matinece costs of the evo i'm 30 and can afford it but my wife still *****es about the fact i only get about 4000 miles out of my tires. the g35 and the tl rock but the evo is a different car all together. go with the evo but be prepared.
Unless you lie really well, your parents are gonna believe exactly what they wanna believe, especially if you have had any past, er... "experiences" which are hindering their decision. hahaha If you haven't done any really stupid driving in the past that they know of, just use your "great driving history!" as an argument. THat's my opinion.
It sounds like you have really cool parents and you better thank them everyday for how well you are treated. Man I feel old after saying that. I know your at the age where you think you are invincible, but just realize how bad things can get in the blink of an eye at high speeds. Since they seem to have money, see if they will send you to a racing school, then you'll know how to control that EVO. Sorry for the speech, but too many under 20's get killed while driving quickly on the street.

Man, do whatever you can to get the Evo. I used the "I'm responsible plea" b/c I really am. I'm 20 but my parents were still part of the decision even though I'm paying for all of it. My parents just didn't want me getting it b/c the didn't want this car to be my coffin. But I PROMISED I would join auto crossing if I wanted to unleash the beast and not do it on the road. That kind of calmed them down, I used the warranty (even though it could be voided at any point in time lol - but they don't know that), the "dream car" argument, how safe they are....yada....Just do anything you can - in the end you'll be happy with your decision.
Man listen to Mr.MR, the car has a lot of power and you need to learn how to control it. It'll be tempting to drive the car like crazy but please don't until you know EXACTLY what you're doing and save that for the track. I won't lie, I could have lost my life b/c of stupid street racing. But good luck and I think this is the car you'll be most happy with.

thanks guys, I really like the evo, it's looks, awd, four door convenience. I just want the feeling of "having" it. Like I told my mom, we'll just pay the license fee and the price for right now and keep the car in the garage
The pure joy of just "having" it.
Update: BTW, the Evo General forum is really responsive

you just sound like a guy who's going to get an evo,and then crash it somehow quick.i'm just getting that feeling from this thread
^^
he seems cool to me. Sounds like he's just really excited about the possibility of actually owning an Evo, and wants to make sure it happens!! I can definitely understand that feeling.
