I feel like I'm 18 when I drive my EVO ... so ... what's the problem again?
You just happen to 'be' 18.
Enjoy the EVO for at least the next 10 years of your life ... and ... get a good education. It'll help you get the next EVO, and the next EVO, and yes, the next EVO. Some people get it through college etc ... others get it through adquiring a trade, but both require hard work in an area that can provide you with the "means."
Tell your friends of your age to not be driving punks .. it's them (not you) that provide the stereotype umbrella that even I have a hard time shaking off when I'm pulled over in the EVO. Thank you for helping us out if you tell / teach your age-group.
As far as driving skills for yourself ... never stop learning. When you think you've learned enough in a car, get a motorbike some motorbike education, and take it to the track. I learned driving some more when confronted with all the aspects of proficient motorcycling.

and belive me i tell my "friends" off alot for doing dumb **** in slower cars. thanks for the advice.
I was an idiot at 18 behind the wheel. 6 years later Im much worse for wear and dont have the energy to have as much "fun" behind the wheel. 6 years in a hard world will teach you much...thats how I can relate to guys much older than even we are and why they feel the way they do.

Interesting article from this morning's Washington Post:
Brain Immaturity Could Explain Teen Crash Rate
Risky Behavior Diminishes At Age 25, NIH Study Finds
By most physical measures, teenagers should be the world's best drivers. Their muscles are supple, their reflexes quick, their senses at a lifetime peak. Yet car crashes kill more of them than any other cause -- a problem, some researchers believe, that is rooted in the adolescent brain.
A National Institutes of Health study suggests that the region of the brain that inhibits risky behavior is not fully formed until age 25, a finding with implications for a host of policies, including the nation's driving laws.
The measures also are supported by crash statistics and a soon-to-be-released study from Temple University, which used a driving-style test to show that young people consistently take greater risks when their friends are watching.
The research has implications beyond driving: Attorneys cited brain development studies as the U.S. Supreme Court considered whether juvenile offenders should be eligible for the death penalty. The court is expected to reach a decision by midyear.
Teenagers are four times as likely as older drivers to be involved in a crash and three times as likely to die in one, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
(It goes on...)

Wow, who the eff really cares? Is it that important that you become adopted or inaugurated into an evo community? I have my real friends to worry about than this petty drama.
If i want to bs about cars or do some car events, sure then i'll go out to an evo community, in hopes to find a select few to become friends with. Out of the many evo owners, ive made friend's with one. ONE. I find meets are pointless. There is nothing stupider then meeting up in a parking lot every week and taking pictures. You wanna go to starbucks and shoot the sheeit, cool but please, keep the camera's at home.
I find many evo owners/clubs like a high school marching band. Filled with people not usually to your liking who hold their group in such prestige, accompanied by drama. IE, my car club this, my car club that, i'll roll with x club there...
but most importantly, to the original poster. If this stereotypical situation is bothering you, you better stop, collect yourself and realize how stupid it is to worry about something as ridiculous as this post.
I'd like to point out i am not here to offend anyone or argue This is my opinion, respect it. I am not here to argue with anyone. I am simply stating my opinion.
