can your evo pass emission test after installed a standalone ECU?
You cannot pass with the stand alone still connected. However, switching back to stock ecu is very easy. What I am doing, is having stock ecu reflashed through the mail, which is easy since I don't have to worry about down time. Then just plug in stock ecu and the MAF sensor, unplug the MAP sensor, and if applicable plug in the stock O2 sensor and you're good to go. It's really not that big of a deal.
It depends on the level of mods you have..
If your state requires OBD-II for it to pass then it cannot..
If its a sniffer check and some minor visual checks, then its possible to tune the car so it could pass, but you **HAVE** to run a catalytic converter no matter what.
However if you plan on swapping your ECU and Standalone, you'll need to have your ECU reflashed for your mods, AND also be certain that the flash can pass an idle emission test (cams and injectors can make that difficult) Plus you would have to undo any mods that will trigger CEL's which can limit your mods.
