I read an article about assembly hours per vehicle a few months ago, but I can't find it right now. I believe it stated numbers showing that OEMs take between 20 to 30 hours to assemble each car or light truck. It all depends on the model. Japanese makes tended to take fewer hours than domestic makes.

Your confused. That's the eclipse your thinking about. Evo is made in Japan like the wrx.

Maybe that's where the port will deliver it to before souceing to dealerships?

This is in one week??? I am just trying to think what will be the major hold back for Mitsubishi, I am guessing the frieght over will take the longest, how long does a frieght take to get here and how many cars do they ship on a single frieghtship. I am guessing Mitsubishi can throw out as many evo's as they want because it seems that building them isn't what takes time. I am guessing most of thier quotes and information is cut short, so they create a strong demand for the car so dealers may jack up price perhaps.

Those production numbers are for cars and trucks made in North America-- no need to ship them from Japan.

That 4,240 includes all of Mitsubishi's models made in North America. Last year, Mitsubishi built 203,337 vehicles here.

I'm getting an EVO because I've owned a bunch of Mitsu's since
November, 1996.
I have (or had): 1997 Eclipse GSX (For sale, lots of mods, very fast - PM me for more info), 1991 Eclipse GSX (Which I still have) and 1992 Galant VR4 #1000/1000. Yes, I had the last VR4.
Blew the motor (previous owner never changed timing belt, it skipped 18 teeth and took almost all the valves with it, sold it to a friend of mine) So I like AWD and turbo cars. I also worked as a mechanic for a SCCA rally racing team, so I saw tons of Evo's, and I just think they are bad-***. Yes, I'd rather have an EVO-VII (not because of AYC/ACD) but just because they look more aggressive, but shelling out over $40k from evolution imports wasn't an option for me....so...thats why I'm getting an EVO!

hi everybody, I just find this webpage, I am from Peru (south america) and my english is not verry well, I try to do my best.
I had the evo V, then Evo VI, the Makinen edition and then the VII, so I can help you guys, First of all I think the Evo most agressive is the Evo V, but the Evo more equilibrate in their lines is the evo VII, the Evo VIII......I dont know, I have to see it in person (believe me, you have to look it in person to have a really realistic impresion).
The evos, V to VII always each one was better than the other, one thing I didnt like in evo VII is that the electronic diferentials, whet it activate is too quick, is not progresive and it turns on too late thing that is corrected in the Evo VIII.
After this introduction I recomended that if you love cars, love tecnology and you like a lot for a verry little mount of dollars, the ovos, wrx are the best thing you can buy, is a rally car, trust me is a car that has the ultimate tecnology, ans you recieve the best car (benefit-cost relation) you can buy.
I know Ramon Ferreyros, that is a rally driver that had finished in third position in the world rally champion N group, he told me that te evo is the best car you can buy.
Now I have 3 cars, a Land Rover Discovery, Mercedes 320E and the Evo VII.
When I go Offroad I use the Discovery, when I have a Wedding I use the mercedes, and when I like a drive, go to my work and enjoy the ride, I take the evo.
This car is very fast, and dificult to dominate and drive, for a person that always drive an automatic transmition, will be very dificult drive the car, and if you know use the stick, is a very nervious car, you touch a little the gas and you will be at the red line, you dont need two clutches per year if you know how to drive a mecanic car like this.
In the city, porches, and even Ferarri¨s will see your tail (if you buy the ecu unit).
