Angry months and months of secrecy, for what!!

Mitsu got humped with their Evo plans. Im very dissapointed that the car im getting just got outdone by Subaru. Subaru just had a better car lined up for the US. Im still getting the EVO, but the Sti looks so damn good and will walk away from the EVO. ITs 30 hp and 30 lbs of torque, let me tell you that you will definetely feel the difference. A 6-speed tranny, aghhhhh!!!! You see Mitsu reps, see what happens with alll this secrecy. Im sooo fu--ing dissapointed, I think I'll go home now. Thanks alot R.K.
You guys just promised the world and Subaru built it. by the way, that car will be about 100 lbs heavier than the wrx, probably lighter than the EVO--

Go away troll... numbers are just that... numbers. I can say I have a top fuel dragster that has electronic this, electronic that and 6000 hp, but how well will it do on the track?

It's all numbers people... WAIT until they are actually tested.

exactly. The evo will beat it in the handling tests and will probly run a quiker 0-60 as well.

I wouldn't bet on that, but I hope it does.

Well there is an old saying that can be seen on some of the mailing lists around here that I really like:

"The car is as fast as driver makes it!!"

Remember that!!

I don't care about drag racing, never did. I'd actually put a bet on the Evo beating the STi around a road course though.

Man here we go...more whinning.
Why does everyone think that Mitsubishi isn't going to do something about Subaru's counterattack?
It's a shame GTR's thread got lost cause i wrote a long post about how it didn't make a difference to mitsubishi to be behind right now. So what if they lose sales on this Evo? You are not expecting them to bring a full blown Evolution to test the American market. No can do, it could have meant suicide for them. In any case, like it or not, mitsubishi is still gonna sell all their first batch of Evo's and when they reply to Subaru, they will have the upper hand because Subaru won't have much they can change that Mitsubishi can't foresee. Enough ranting, if u need one of the two within this year, then be happy u have two great options. if not, you don't even have a reason to whine, cause these two cars will be even better after.

In the end all it comes down to is what you want your car to do stock numbers and read-outs don't really mean jack **** anymore, hell I could take a crx and build it up to where it can beat the hell out of anything else on the road. People you need to get over it just buy whatever the hell makes you happy and work on it.

it's amazing to me how people can read 2 set of numbers and infer which will be the better car. These "Magazine racers" as I have heard them called, falsly take printed information as the bible as far as performance is concerned.

The Evo may be down in the HP department, but I doubt it will be any less exciting than the Sti.

Because remember, bigger brakes doesn't always mean you can stop faster.....more hp doesn't mean you can accelerate faster. more bells and whistles doesn't nec make a car better....

SC~ who knows his ITR's 195hp is faster than some other cars with 200+hp

look, I understand that numbers aren't everything, I owned an ITR that embarassed many at the track. fully schooled at Limerock, dont think they have many national tracks in Wisconsin. No "magazine racer" here.
You do realize that being a EVO fan isn't enough to fight for it. I have never driven one, therefore I cannot defend it totally. I will buy one, It will be a great car, but I feel that Mitsu needed to jump into this war with the bigger stick, and I guarantee you that the corporate leaders at mitsu aren't too happy about the new STI. Why will I still buy one? because Im pushing my budget with 30k, and I feel that the EVO is and will be great, although a notch below the STI. I guess we'll have to see. Oh,and you can tell me to go away when you learn how to fully rebuild and diagnose an engine. sorry....
