shift light help

shift light help

hi guys i bought a shift light just cause i thought it would b a nice little feature to help hit shift at the track etc...... anyways i followed the install directions on the how to forum but i still cant get it to work.. i bought one of these

has anyone else used one or know anything about them? does it not work with our cars or maybe i just got a dud? i know i have it powerd correctly and grounded as it lights up when the key is put in and flashes when the ignition is turned over. any help would b nice thanks

return it shift lights suck IMO is track strip or road course? for a drag race it it stupid for a road course it would be cool.

if it is for drag racing dont worry about it

im going to be attending both my issue is i am confertable with the stering wheel down all the way and from how i sit and the stearing wheel i cant even c the top half of the tach.... unless i like bend down so i do want one

Did you cut the correct wire for 4 cylinder operation?

what do u mean by that? the wire on the ecu? i did #58 the tachometer output......?

It says to cut brown and orange wire loops for 4 cylinder operation.

Let me know how it works for you please. Jegs have them for $49.99 and I will pick one up if they work OK. There appears to be a problem with some newer cars where the shift light randomly blinks, but I don't know if that applies to our cars. dude it works amazing after finding out to cut those 2 wires i ran it all and wires it up power and ground from the deck..... and then just the #58 from the ecu with the scotch locks and it works so good..... i just needed to read the fine print lol its not blinking or anything that i have seen all day... i got mine off ebay for 35$ thier are a ton on thier

not needed nothing is needed it was a nice little thing that i personally wanted and enjoy u dont need it or have to like it ... thanks though
