It doesn't sound like your '03 is a PITA...just a little neglected by the first owner. If anything sell it private party. You'll probably make an extra $2k-$3k over what a dealer would offer for it. Make the most out of it if I were you. Either fix or replace the things that are bugging you or sell it private party. If you trade it in for an MR you will be essentially financing a $40k-$45k car. Damn.

it has 40k miles (yea too much traveling) and a howling TC

Im in the market for a bone stock or slightly used car from the dealership. MR, GSR only. I owe about 26k on the car. Credit score is in the high 700s. and if they decide to take it, could i just use my car as a down payment and how much u think they'll give me for it
Keep it, you will end up loosing a lot of moeny and will be upside down. Dont do it! Fix the TC and problem solved! 03 its just as good as 05, just minor things added

A little bit here but how does someone go about "taking over payments"? Does that basically mean that the person that is taking the payments over goes to a bank and gets a loan for whatever the ammount of the car is and basically finances the car themselves? Or will mitsu let you just transfer your payment plan over to someone else?

The previous owner paid 44 GRAND for the EVO???????? that is freakin' insane. Seriously, that is ridiculously high, no matter where you live.

Sell it privately, my friend. If you try and trade it, excpect to get around $16,000 max for it.
