dyno/track Rant!!!!

i recently went to harman motive in torrence ca, and to the drag at famoso raceway with horrible results. i know this is a shoot in the dark because im really the only person who is physically with my car, but ill try anyways.

dyno run was 290ish whp (dont know exactly) on 91 octane.

23psi with 110 octance. 1/4 was 12.9 at 106mph with 1.74 60'.

my problem is that i recently installed a utec w/tuna, xs engineering intercooler, and rc 750cc inj since last time at the track. i installed these parts and lost 1/10 in the 1/4 and when from 109 to 106mph.

im going to checking the timing tomorrow and i want to do a pressure test. i just dont understand why my car is so slow.

please dont say its tuning, dan at harman is a great tuner.

btw, i did two runs at the track with 91 and i ran the same as with the 110.

If the car is holding boost then there must be something w/ how the car is tuned.

If your 264's don't idle very close to stock then you may have a cam/cam gear install issue. I have seen a EVO that had that problem. It idled worse then my 272's and put down about 30whp less. You should talk to Harmon and see what similar modded EVO's put down. That way you can have something to compare by.

i'd check all IC plumbing before anything. If everything is peachy then I would look into the timing because with 110 in the tank you should be able to bump that timing up a good bit

that's what i'd like to know. there's no point in running larger injectors when you're running a stock turbo. as a matter of fact you ideally want to run the lowest injectors you can optimally get away with,

there are a few people running 750cc injectors with stock turbo. utec also scales injectors.

Don't be such a pessimist! Sometimes you have to ask questions to qualify certain decisions. Don't be poopy. Help is advising against giant unneeded injectors. We're not making fun of you, just saying that their too much. IMO, injectors should be upgraded with the turbo, not before or after.
