No, I have to disagree. East Asians are very light skin compared to SouthEast Asians(me) and you can usually tell the difference. I can usually tell the difference between Koreans, Japanese, Chinese, Laotion, Cambodian, Vietnamese and Thai, any other Asian race is kinda hard to tell. (for me)

Ok regrettably this in an all to comon occurance... its basically racial profiling and sorry that you had to experience it 
cops use this tactic very often but mostly play it off.. thats why you see more minorities being pulled over than the typical white. I'm latin and I haven't had it happen to me yet, but I have gotten some hard long stares from the cops for this exact reason. Again sorry you had to experience it and I would turn him into his sergeant or internal affairs.. you'd get out of the ticket in a heart beat to say the least.

well, Me being black, with a pimped out Lancer i know what u go thru. I try my hardest NOT to pull the race card.. but when it happens time after time after time u have no choice. i moved into a "new town" and got pulled over 3 times within 2 weeks!!!!! they try to give me the bull**** every now and then. But i pay them no mind.. it gets you pissed! but try not to let it get the best of you bro!
