boost gauge problem

Well I'm on a roll for messing things up lately. Now I had my boost gauge wired to the green/white wire from the dimmer switch, but wasn't able to dim it, so I switched it to the black/yellow wire on the dimmer switch and the boost gauge now dims backwards of every other light in the car. When I dim, the boost gauge gets brighter and when I max out the lights the boost gauge goes dark. I flipped the bulb in the boost guage thinking it might be reversed polarity, but it did nothing. Any suggestions or ideas why this is? Thanks in advance,

Mike

The way yours is set up is the way I originally had mine, and it would illuminate, but not dim. That's why I tried the black/yellow wire. I'm not sure what the deal is, but thanks for the info.

Defi factory instructions tell you that you will not be able to dim this product. I would imagine it to be the same with any gauge. Why would you wanna dim your gauge anyway? Your gauge may not have a dimming circuit which would take the ability of read a signal from a potentiometer (i'm an Electrician). But there isn't anything "wrong" with the product, it just doesn't have the function your looking for .
