HELP I think me transfere case went
Correct me if Im wrong, I think a broken t-case would have a steady whine. U might be hearin the infamous suspension "clunk" which i think alot of people have heard lately cause of the cold weather
i'm not a mechanic or anything, but i highly doubt its you'r transfer case. go have sombody check axles, and ball joints.
just to let you know dont put your hopes on ball joints because they sound cheap they ccost about $250-300 each side.

It is also possible that the spider gears in the diff have been damaged and are binding instead of the diff working correctly -- producing clunking when turning.
I agree though, keep your fingers crossed that it is something cheaper!
Call Jon at Team Rip. He'll sell you an lsd dif inside TC for the about the same price as the
unit.

I have one and it's great. It will hold more power too.
Just out of curiosity, did what kind of oil are you running in the TC?

I had symptoms that sounded exactly like that and i swore something was messed up in the front diff. Well it turns out the front diff was fine but the ring and pinion were screwed up.....an expensive repair. Hopefully that is not your problem, but it is a definite possibility.

Well I just got my car back and I drove it for the first time I pulled out of first gear and it made a little noise, I pull out of first gear and turn the wheel and it feel like the tires are going in opposite directions and a louder noise and you can feel it in the wheel. When I went in reverse it was hard when the wheels were turned it stalled out a few times......
THIS SUCKS

I am thinking it is the front diff from what you have said. But also driving around on it while it is clunking will probably also destroy the Transfer Case at the same time, since they both share the same unit.
