Well, let's just call it atmopshere, driver, conditions, all these factor. Lowering tire pressure at the rear.

There's also a big production variance. I ran a 12.3 with a K&N, a reflash and a catback. @Byron in Ill. All I did was take out the spare. I can't turn up the boost with a reflash, so according to the magazine, I gained a second with these mods?

12s stock aren't an uncommon occurence. It's not like I'm claiming a Cobra is running 1 sec faster than what is in CD, just a few 10ths. Which the hot rod mags will support.

Thanks.
It wasn't a guy, it was a girl in an Evo 7. She was drifting round the track and dropped a wheel in the dirt, causing her to flip. If you do a search on here you could probably find it.

Talking of wrecks, have you seen the video of Strictly Performance's Cobra hitting the wall at HMP? Nasty...

13.6? You have some crappy drivers there.

I've missed shifts and ran 13.6s

Stock Cobras run low 13s, with an occasional 12.9

Nope, I haven't seen the video of the wreck.

Not into wrecks though, was just nuts how she was working the handbrake.

From what I can gather, Hawaii has some very slow tracks. Not sure what the DA is over there but it must be pretty bad.

i got halfway through this thread and i really just wanted to share my .02 -

I have nothing but pride and respect for our cars. They're simply incredible- on and off the track. They're practical, fast, and fun to drive japanese 'budget' exotics. I love our little two liter motors, especially when they've been modded and tuned- however, i dont think you will own an '03 cobra. especially with the mods you have listed. Its going to take quite a bit more than that to run with one of those. You wanna beat one of them- go talk to Martin or Eric at AMS; David, TYM, or Jarrod at Buschur; Dan at Pruven; or anyone at Turbotrix. I'm sure they'll tell you exactly what we're telling you- you need more mods.

Hell, who really cares. The evo is the all-around sports car. It shines in so many places that the cobra only wishes it could prevail. But as someone in this post mentioned earlier; if you want a drag car, spend your money elsewhere.

Agreed. My brother's friend's stock Cobra (03) ran a 12.4. Alot of you are misinformed on the cobra's output. Its not the NA motor anymore. 03 and above are supercharged.

Who's ripping on the EVO?

i'm not saying that anyone is ripping on the evo. i'm just sharing my opinion on the whole "my evo is faster than an '03 cobra and vice-versa" discussion.

is that alright with you?
