Does anyone know if/who makes a short shifter kit for the EVO that replaces the whole housing? I put a TRD kit in my wifes car and it replaced everything. I ask becuse it looks like the only ones that I can find replace just the post and you have to cut into the housing. I would like to avoid that at all costs.

 

You won't be able to remove the stock plastic base for the rod unless you cut the rod in half. Cheapest option, like I did, was buy an ebay shortshifter and a used "stock" shifter rod and base and cut the rod in half. Good idea, in case, I want to go back to stock.

You can also go the Lancer shop route and buy their whole kit, which comes with the plastic rod base. Kartboy also sells just the base, if you have the shortshifter already.
