TWM Full Replacement Short Shifter Cage

Does anyone have the TWM Short Throw Shifter Full Replacement Cage? Im looking into it but a friend of mine said to go with the Cobb Adjustable Short Throw Shifter and save a lot of money. The TWM has a 30% reduction in throw while the Cobb only has 15% reduction. Does anyone have any experience with both short throws?

Kracka did a great write up on both of them (he preferred the Works)

Also on the FB Evo Owners Group, there's someone that got a full cage, and they sent him a short throw for RHD. They were cool about replacing it with the correct one, but it created(ing) some downtime. The guy wasn't too happy.

Me personally...I'm going to go with the Works and all the bushings hopefully later this year.

Had mine installed with TWM short shifter and all their bushings.. love it!

my cage did not come assembled and no instruction either.. It's not hard to figure out, but I had to pull some cell phone images online to put it together..

this picture would have helped so much..

Whoa that's one stout looking unit (and setup). Rally car driver excluded can anyone chime in on NVH for a road car?

Ok now Rally driver question... how the heck do you shift around the hydraulic e-brake handle? Do you reach around it? That looks crazy!

I have the Works short shifter and the TWM shifter cage with a TWM shift knob (Hybrid something, I forgot the name). I can only compare this to the stock shifter with the stock plastic cage, since I just removed the stock piece and dropped this in.

The shift throws are a lot shorter (obviously) and and a bit stiffer. I don't know if adding the cage added to the stiffness of the shifts or not, but shifting does sound louder. Other than that, it doesn't make any more noise compared to the stock setup.

I have not install the bushings under the hood and I've yet to change the transmission fluid. Hope this helps!

When you driving you dont even notice it is there. But when you need it that is a closest point to reach it + you can get a most leverage on it from you bucket seat.
Remember rally cars generally, if they pass a certain modification level, they have no more brake booster - abs etc, just a pure old pedal box.

I'm on the full replacement kit on a road car. =) Love it!

Used to have the TWM Performance shortshifter on my previous Lancer EX (Or Lancer ES/DE or something... I don't know... Over here in Singapore they call it the EX) so I decided to get it for my Evo X too.

Maybe because I'm trying to sneak a view at this video at work when I should be working but I don't even see the e-brake handle in the video...

Certainly doesn't look like you're being affected. It still seems like a very odd placement to me but hey whatever works right?
