5-speed EVO 8: Short Shifters....how many people using them?

I just completed the install of my metal bushings underhood and shifter cage on my evo.

I was wondering if anyone here has a short-shift kit and want to know how they like it

I'm using the Lancershop shifter kit. This kit comes complete with bushings so you don't need to buy them separately (but you already did), and is priced very reasonably. The difference is like shifting a bowl of mush as compared to working the action of a rifle bolt. As for my factory shifter, it went quickly into the trash and I hope to never see it again.

First, I got bushing and a s/s clutch line, and then a couple weeks after, i order a Kart Boy Short Shifter. I love it, its like your directly connected to the transmission.

I have a Fidanza shifter, but no bushings yet. The shorter throw is very nice, but it still isn't as smooth as the whole kit would make it. Definately going to pick up some bushings soon tho.

i have the B&M non-adjustable with the full bushing kit and absolutely love it...it gives a 30% reduction in throw and can't imagine shifting without it...this is the second B&M shifter i have owned and i love it...

I have...

Buschur Short Shifter
Buschur Under Hood Shifter Bushings
LancerShop Brass Shifter Base Bushings
Powerflex Motor Mount Bushing

I love this combination to no end. The Buschur shifter is the perfect reduction (about 30%), and all of the bushings help improve the shifter feel tremendously.

I highly recommend the above modifications!

Lancershop, best bang for your buck and it really took all the slop out. I also have a SS clutchline and underhood bushings

I used to run a short shifter on my 95 Integra. I used to go street racing a lot and actually broke my short shifter while shifting gears. My concern is whether or not a short shifter would add to the tranny/synchros wearing out much faster on the EVO..

can someone answer this ?

same setup i have, with kartboy urethane shifter base/shift linkage bushings.. i LOVE it. after this, i would never go back to a stock-throw shifter.
