+1 im going to be doing same. the thorow i like for stock. just make it little more stiffer on some ends and what not.

IMO I would think the metal bushings(underhood/shifter base) would be to stiff and not allow any give in the mechanism itself, therefore the syncros themselves would have to take up the slack.

As we all know the stock evo syncros are about as good as a lego set left in gasoline too long.

How solid are the poly bushings, and do you guys think they would be a better choice?

I finally installed a short shifter today. I changed my bushings to aluminum 3 months ago along with a greddy cw shift knob and now it feels really good. I definitely recommend a s.shifter.

In all honesty they're pretty much just as stiff. Probably in high 90s durometer.
