interesting....

i'm not sure if its worth getting the sprayer, as i had a '03 evo which i traded in for my MR, and don't notice any difference without the sprayer...

i think it was mainly a psychological effect, unless you're in arizona or something (which im not- i'm in seattle)...

but then again, feeling your car is faster is important too!!

Excellent so are you going to swap a sprayer for ACD now? That's ghey, get a nos sprayer and make a real difference in intake temps... Big waste of time IMHO.

do what im going to do. use the factory switch to click on the nitrous sprayer. that way, it looks stock but you have the cool PSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHH of the sprayer, and the added hp increase. thats always the coolest. i love the subtle modifications like that. where you have no idea that its not stock, until its too late

from own experience, the new EVO MR engine bay is redesigned, you can't fit the water reservoir like in the 03's Evos, instead you have the air filter box and the power steering reservoir.

As per being worth, I don't think is worth at all, the price of getting the water spray intercooler from the Mitsubishi dealer will be close to getting a sophisticated water spray system for your motor(intake manifold).
You could also get alcohol injection or even liquid oxigen or nitrous sprayer for the same price..

Once again I posted this only for those who care! Eventually I will use the original intercooler sprayer button, that is in a good place for me and was easy to install, for future mods!!

Thanks for the information DavidMCr. I appreciate it. All of the 2005's have ACD and the pump/resevoir for that system is where the water spray bottle used to sit.

First of all thanks for all the positive replies! Also well if you are doing your mods yourself you know if your clever enough you will always locate a spot to install something you want!

And for those of you that said now I could upgrade to the alcohol injection kit, your right!

(FromWRXtoEVO) - you would still need to find a place to put the resevoir for the alcohol injection kit umm..... right??!!

Even the JDM version has the intercooler sprayer as shown in the pics of last years Magazine "SPEED" Super fast EVO MR!

Just thought I help a few!

An really it didn't cost me alot at all when you know people!!!!!

very creative, although me personally, i like the bigger cupholders, if you really want a space for the sprayer switch, i would put it where the interior dimmer switch is instead though.

I think that this thread is actually pretty useful for the MR owner who is interested in going with a water/alcohol/methanol system given that most of the systems are made to use the stock intercooler reservoir. I like the idea of getting the old intercooler sprayer tank and using the intercooler sprayer button to turn your water injection on and off. We don't have a lot of other do-it-yourself options for water injection and doing this with a coolingmist system seems pretty doable.
