How long will my Evo last?

Hey all. Need advice. My daily driver is no more. I'm going to save up for a new one. For a while I'm going to be putting on alot of miles on the Evo. I had a huge list of mods I wanted to put in the car, but all of them would effect fuel economy.
Also I want to keep my Evo as long as it will last. I know honda's and most well made N/A engines last forever if taken car of. How long will our turbo engines last if they are well taken care of. How many miles can the stock turbo take before it needs to be changed?
Thanks

my friend has a 1g talon that has 200k miles on it. 350whp.
and i've seen alot of other dsms with over 100k miles and still driven hard and running lots of boost. i would say the turbo/clutch would go first, before the motor

Yeah you do. I hope that we can get 100,000 + miles out of it.

alot of turbo cars need that attention and to be driven....if they sit around seals go bad and they just break down over time.

If you don't abuse the car and maintain it properly it should last 200,000 miles or more. It's avery strong, sturdy car. The EVO is made to run hard and fast and should last a long time if not driven hard or mistreated.

Biggest thing with the turbo is heat cycling. Make sure you give it plenty of time to cool down or the seals will go and the turbo has to be rebuilt.

Rebuilding the turbo is cheap considering the fact youd only have to do it once every 150k-200k miles...by the time you add up all the money for brakes, tires, clutches, oil, etc....a turbo rebuild will seem like a drop in the bucket.

Engine is strong, major parts should last. Might have to get youre valve seats re-cut and stuff like that after many miles. As far as tranny, TC, diffs go...be nice to them and they should last....knock on wood...

crankwalk is an "issue" in 2g dsm's... many swap out their 2g's bolt pattern to the 1g's if i'm not mistaken... the Evo's 4G63 is the real deal... we don't have to worry about that...

like other's said... this engine is grossly overbuilt... with some TLC, and stretching it's legs every so often within reason, it'll last a long time... proper cool down after spirited runs and long hauls is a must... otherwise you'll run into caulking... the clutch on the other hand, heh... but even then, if cared for, i think some ppl on here have 30k+ miles on the stocker with spirited driving **read, no slipping-side stepping** lol...

yeah, I've also heard crankwalk is NOT an issue with these engines. I think they'll last pretty damn long if you take care of em right. I second silvery eagle! Make em last forever!!!

But really, if I can get 150 - 200K miles out of it without having to do any kind of major engine work, I will be SOOOOOO satisfied.
