Question Blue confusion - BBY vs EBP

Is the 05 color called "Electric Blue Pearl" the same color as BBY?

The Mitsu website depicts 05 EBP as a steely blue, but, IIRC, this same color depiction was used when the color was called BBY.

Thanks for fielding my question - you guys are the best!

they ave very different colors. the new electric blue is a very vibrant color. It's a different tone and appears much deeper than BBY was.
YMMV,
Greg

don't know. I'll have to look at my friends at night this weekend. People say that my grey MR has a hint of purple to it too. Mistubishi needs to keep an eye on that purple, it's a **** and really gets into every thing...

Electric blue looks like the dark blue tones you see on Honda Civic and Accords, Acura TSXs, PT Cruiser, SRTs, GMC Envoy, Protege 5's, etc. Did I miss anything else? It's nice, but the BBY is a little better. A bit more "unique" than the EB color.

I dunno...I searched "EBP", "Electric Blue Pearl", "Blue pearl" and all I come up with are guesses...I was hoping to confirm it with a 05 EBP owner or actual pic...

well when u search - use the search the correct way - type in "electric blue"

and on the bottom right - click on lancer evolution forums only - or else u will get threads that will come up in other sections like off-topic, photoshop forum, regional forum, private for sale forum, etc.

i was going to show the diff w/pix, but the 100kb file size llimiter blows and made the pix hardly worth showing...the EBP looks more like civic SI blue with the pearl in it while the BBy looks more like a cell shaded blue.....much lighter in the sunlight.

I own one and can post pics. but not until later b/c I won't be at home for a while. For the record, the BBY was nice but too light in the sunlight. The EB is a hell of a lot better, the only time you get the purple effect is when bright light is directly shinned on it. The EB is almost a chameleon paint color in that respect, it's sweet. My avatar might work but I'll post pics. later.

A little low quality pic, but you get the idea. Electric Blue in front, my Blue By You behind it.

Electric Blue is darker and has little metallic flakes in the paint and looks sorta purple in dim light or at night. BBY is a brighter flat color.
