How to make keyless entry *not* honk?

I did a search... found nothing... and I don't have the owner's manual...

I have the factory keyless entry... how do I make it so when I lock the doors, it does not honk, only blinks the lights?

Aint gonna happen unless you cut the wire from the keyless entry sytem that goes to the horn. I might be wrong but I have not found a way.

I know it's possible cause when I first got the car, it wouldn't honk when locking... but outta boredom and not realizing it, I kept pushing the lock/unlock buttons and now it randomly honks while locking... rawr ><

No... don't do that. It's not even going to work like that. The ECU probably controls all that internally. There is a method to change this, I just don't know it offhand. Hopefully, someone with their manual nearby will help you out, as mine is three floors down in my car.

WRONG! There is a way that is listed in the manual, but I can't go outside right now to check; I'm doing my taxes and typing in between TurboTax updates!

Now why in the world would you want to do that? The way it honks is a direct reflection of your just finished trip.

It says
"Press the LOCK switch for 4 to 10 seconds and press the unlock switch during this time. Then Release the LOCK and UNLOCK at the same time."

Hehe, I can wait... thanks for being willing to check for me!

I'm standing on my balcony, hoping all this hail isn't leaving any marks on my Evo... (I'm dead-center in the current tornado(s) in the Atlanta area right now)...

Tried holding both for 4-10, then releasing both at the same time... tried holding LOCK for 4-10, then holding UNLOCK for 1-3, then releasing both... neither worked... still honks and my neighbors are getting irritated now. =]
