10 things I hate about Evo

Those are the only 2 cars I would consider to be a step up from the Evo. The Evo is good for what it is, but it's not making any better as a driver. I rely too much on the AWD and turbo to sort out the grip for me. No finesse involved.
It's by far one of the best cars I have ever owned. Probably one of the fastest stock cars ever built. Gotta respect it for that.
But I'm moving on. It's not fun to drive it any more. I can start noticing that the car is making me lose the ability to feel the limit of the car and just let the AWD do the work.

there's actually quite a bit of finesse involved with the EVO. the only difference is, you need the effortless man power to be capable.
try sitting on a couple phone books after you hit up the gym.

i think you went wrong at:
"6. You have never heard or know anyone with those problems because most Evo owners don't know the difference."
nice way to start **** with people on this forum basically *sigh*. why do you think they'r thrashing you?
1. i'm 5'7", ~160, 32 waist, avg built (no this isn't a personal ad!
) and i think the seats are just fine. MAYBE they could be just a TINY bit smaller, but they're so slim compared to like 95% of cars out there.
2. tight steering is good imo, i get a much better feel of tire/road communication.
3. yes, it's annoying when bumps jerk the wheel around, but i think that goes back to my #2. they're related (but what do i know, i'm just one of the "most" evo pWn0rZ). i'm sure you're a regular Mr. T and all
(judging from your love of cage matches), but maybe you should spend just a lil more time on some butterfly curls. i'm rather OUT OF SHAPE (not fat, just haven't worked out since....), and i mean i'm REALLY weak these days, and i can turn the wheel by one hand while parking and hold it straight while doing 70 on a very bumpy road.
4. peak torque is at 3500rpm if i'm not wrong? 4k my left nipple.
5. yes, me turbo - you lag. that's how it works. as far as reviews say, it spools faster than sti, can someone attest?
6. sorry you don't like the car so much, and 8.8 compression is indeed stupid low. my stock integra (wow look, another honda guy!) is like 9.2 (non-Vt3cH y0).
7. my only probs with it: tiny *** gauges, hard to make out speed, but i got used to it. door panels are soooo bloody borrrriiiing!
, my teg has more slick looking ones, but whatever.
well too bad you wanna let evo go.

It's funny how everybody started jumping on me ever since they saw the topic. I've put over 23,000 miles on the car. I think I know a thing or two about the car
And it's also one of the reasons I'm moving away from the Evo. It's a very affordable car that anybody can get their hands on one if they wanted. As such, we get a lot of inexperienced drivers and the maturity level isn't where I'd like it to be. But oh well. Not like ClubSi is any better
The one thing I noticed is that when you go on a Subie board and say the same thing about the STi, people just kinda agree and say it is what it is, whereas here everybody worships the almighty Evo and anything against it is blasphemy.
I am running the factory specs. I had it aligned by the dealer to make sure it was good.
I'm running A046 with 34 psi cold in the front and 37 psi in the rear.
I have checked all the hoses and connections and torqued down all the clamps. They all seemed okay to me. No looseness.

I'm a driving instructor and I have approached the Evo after maybe 15 years of driving BMWs and years of track driving (everything from an E30 318is to a 355 Challenge car). It's true the Evo demands a different driving style. And of course there are compromises (turbo lag, poor throttle response, understeer, etc.) associated with this type of car compared to, say, a GT3. You need to commit to learning how to get the most out of it.
Sure, you can let the car do the work (as you've described). However, to REALLY drive the car fast demands a LOT of finesse. Any ham-fisted idiot can hop in the Evo and post quick times just because the car is so capable. But if you really learn how to get the most out of it, you will be shocked at how much more speed there is to be gained. On the track, I have NO problem putting away race-prepped E46 M3's and Porsches with my street-prepped Evo.

I am a honda guy too, i love my type R as much as my evo, 2 different cars but same spirit in performance. ITR top end is just awsome, and evo torque and over all perf is awsome as well. I can t understand someone complaining about evo esp if u come from a civic
next car in my collection.......SUPRA-SAN.....banzaiiiii!!! lol

I don't like modified cars. They generally break more easily.
Not true, in fact a stock Evo is VERy rich and probably woudl foul spark plugs pretty soon. Need a better clutch. Need to get the sand outa your Vagina.

. Anyways, is this car gonna be a track car or daily driver or both?
