Replacing 2005 LowBeam Halogen Bulbs

Anyone ever do it? Did you get away WITHOUT removing anything major?

Bumper's gotta go? Hmmm, the manual doesn't call for that. It says to go through the fender.

It's certainly not "way easy", that's for sure.

True, I updated my lowbeam with aftermarket HID - 9006 type. on my 04' RS.

To change bulbs you have to remove the bumper, but it's easy job - 15 minutes.

Which bulbs did you use out of curiosity?

i have an 05 and i put some upgraded halogen bulbs in mine. i did not need to remove the bumper. what i did was for a given side, turn the wheel away from it to give me room to get access through the wheel well. as far as i remember there were 3 body screws i removed for each side so that i could pull it out of the way to get behind the headlight assembly. it is quite a pain in the *** to do it this way, i wore rubber gloves because its really tight in there and sometimes can't avoid touching the bulb. the passenger side i found to be the most difficult. might have been easier to remove the whole bumper? not sure, never removed it before.

I got 6500k McCulloch, a little too blue for me. But the car looks tight...

definitely brighter than halogen but I'd get 5000k or lower.

stock projector lens does nice job but you get a "yellow" ring on the projection...

Good to know. So whole bumper huh? Well, I'll plan for that. What then...you take the whole light assemblies out?

I tried going through the wheel well, and for some reason, there's a metal bracket right in front of the lighting harnasses. It's a pain in the @ss, and was unable to change the lowbeam bulb since I cracked the new ones in the process of trying to fit it in. So I gotta remove the bumber to change the bulbs? Would it be easier to remove the headlights altogether?? Thanks.

I was told at the dealership that the regular halogens are 9005 type? I do have an 05, would this be different on the 04?
