My best was 13.08 @ 104 with my 03. That, too, was bone stock, 1.74 60' as well..

I haven't been back since that time, but I'm sure I still have the slip around here somewhere. Oh, and just hit the 25k mileage mark last night, still on the stock clutch.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but from the mods listed in your signature that appears to be exactly what you think the car is made for. I don't see any reference of suspension mods, corner-balancing -- frankly anything of the sort that relates much to autox or road course driving.

And I'm deducting that you probably don't have any of them, since you listed your wheels and JDM tails as mods.

1.7 60ft times, 12's with little or no mods, and over 100 mph through the traps, smells like a drag car to me. I know they are good in the twisties, but there are no car companies that specify what is and what is not a drag car. The owner decides that.

It gets so old hearing people say "that's not what it's made for." Because of the unique combination of characteristics the EVO happens to be a very capable car in just about every measure of performance. As a result, people use it as a drag car. Get over it

Also, the drag strip is a great place to tune your car. Comparing back to back runs can give you more information than you think. It's also frequently a better measure of performance than a dyno since so many dynos read differntly. But this is all way OT. Let's not bastardize this guy's poor thread.

There are only a handfull of cars out there that can match the Evo's straight line performance and with awd most cars play catch up in a drag, that is why I sold my Cobra and bought an Evo in the first place. I did the math and money wise I could spend less money getting an evo in the 10's/low 11's than a Cobra and still drive it on the street. I love my "drag" Evo. And I agree to not bastardizing this thread.

First there are more than just performance mods. Second I like to go fast yes so I buy mods, but that does mean I drag my car or have to. To be honest I have only been to the track 1 time and that was way before most of my mods.

By my first post all I meant was that if you try to run a high 12 or low 13 the drivetrain will not last just from what I have seen. It's just my

Well I guess there really are not that many "05'" RS's out there yet that anyone besides the mags got a time on. Well, hopefully I'll have mine around the end of April and I'll be headed from the Showroom to the Track and let everyone know!!

Thanks Guys!

This issue is not whether the Evo is or is not a drag car. The issue is people who spend their last dollar on an Evo, break parts and then come back here and ***** b/c Mitsu won't fund their race program. The Evo is a great car for drag racing. Just be realistic and bring lots of money.
