Real World '05 RS 1/4 mile times
Well SEVERAL local dealers have been quoting 26,500 WITH the sound system,
that tells me that there must be a LOT of mark-up, and I'm quite sure they'll go down to 25,900 on a pure CASH deal!
Oh yea, come on I know they just came out in January (the higher horsepower '05's) but I'm sure Somebody must have run one??

A lot of people have run their 03 evos and run low 13s, some high 12s stock. The 05s have a bit of an edge with the upgraded turbine housing and should be firmly entrenched in the low 13s with ease. The 05rs is about 150lbs lighter then the 03s with more power so low 13s should be no problem at all. These cars in stock form are tuned very conservatively and in octane limited conditions you may see a mid-high 13 on an 03 on 91 octane depednign on the weather conditions.
I doubt you'll be disappointed with the EVO in the 1/4 mile aspect.

First off the EVO is a very capable drag car, come on think about it, so many cars are fearful to race an EVO from a dig. Still with that said, there still isn't a huge majority of EVOs that drag race their cars (not yet, not like DSMs) stock or modified. For every EVO owner that drag races, there are probly 3 or 4 that haven't and probably won't in the near future. Hopefully this will gradually change.
Guys,
Thanks for the replys, and as far as Octane I have VERY Abundant Sunoco 94, and even 100 Octane unleaded at quite a few pumps out here in PA. In fact would it be helpful to mix in some 100 before I race it just to be 100% sure that I get all the factory BOOST?? And my local Track, Maple Grove, is at sea level. So even granny shifting I should run a LOW 13!
Thanks!!

P.S. Drives: 1987 GN (Stock Hight 12's) Nice!
motor trend & every other major mag has lied on 1/4 mile times. it is SAE corrected for optimum conditions AT SEA LEVEL!!!! here is how you look at realistic 1/4 mile times:
200hp (crank) runs 14-15sec.
300hp 13-14
400hp 12-13
500hp 11-12
also the formula works like this on the dragstrip:
for every 1/10th sec shaved on the 60ft time, you gain 2/10ths on tha back end. for example i ran 13.62 @ 105mph (firebird raceway phx, az) on the yellow '03 w/a 2.225 60 ft time & reaction time of 0.048 (.5 sec tree). if i would have ran a 1.8 60ft, i would've had a 12.80 1/4 mile.
if anyone doubts these formulas, prove me wrong & have the resources to back it up.
