Unhappy What is going on with my car??????

Well I was driving my car through the snow storm we had on Monday when BAM, my car started making awful sounds. Seemed like it was coming from transfer case area. It wasn't a whine, it sounded like a a blender that is overly packed and making that straining gravely sound, sorta like the corduroy on the shoulder of a road when you drive on it. Needless to say I was like oh sh*t . I talked to some of the vendors on here, all said to change fluid and look for metal. I did that yesterday, there was no metal at all. Fluid looked great (redline heavy shock). Car seems fine now. The only thing that concerns me is that at one point when this grumbling sound was happening, I did hear a metallic whine for a second . I posted on here awhile ago about driving through deep puddles and hearing a similar sound a few other members reported the same thing. Any advice or suggestions would be great . For those who will ask, yes I have raced it, about 20 passes total. I am a very good driver as far as slipping, not dumping the clutch, I never, ever launch it on the street, Fluids are changed every 3000-5000 miles and is done religiously. Have been running Redline for 1.5 years in diffs. Bg synchrosift in Tranny.

how often do you really NEEd to change tranny and diff fluid though? Sounds like you're doing it too often.

I change mine every 10,000 to 12,000 miles and my 03 was fine. Only 2,200 miles on the 05 and it'll be the same way.

I do it, to keep fresh fluid in what seems to be a very mediocre diff. design. There are no reprocussions(think that's how you spell it) from doing this. I do it to keep it well maintained.

By the way. with the cold weather we have been having I always let the fluids warm up to operating temps before really getting on the gas in the morning.

You said you were driving in snow? Did you by any chance have snow packed in your wheels?
I've had a similar sound happen after doing some snow drifting. I cleared out the wheels of all the snow and it went a way. It was a problem with the brakes clamping because of all the snow packed in.

Sounds like a problem with your flux capacitor.....check that and let me know how you made out......

You say that it no longer makes the sound? Therefore you could be looking for a problem that doesn't exist anymore(i.e. snow in the wheels)

You need to NOT use Redline in the trasfercase. Several have complained that it was the death of their case. You should change it out for OEM spec fluid immediately.

I have done so much research about this topic. I have spoken to (no lie hear) at least 5 tuners, who are all very, very well known and respected who said that Redline is absolutley fine, and it is all they use in "al there race cars". I checked the snow in the tires theory when I pulled over, no problems there. Who knows, I guess I will find out if I put a bandaid on it, or that it was nothing big to begin with. About the snow in the tires, if you read my first post it says that at one point I heard a metallic sound then a quick whine, it lasted oh maybe 2 seconds but was there none the less and never repeated itself. Like I said, seems fine, drove it after fluid change, got on it a few times, no probs yet. When doing the fluid change, I did find a bit of snow and ice caught up in the subframe in the general vicinity of where the halfshaft enters the T-case on the passenger side and cleared that out.

It was a tad low on plutonium, so I topped it off. Don't think that was it though.
