no cage yet, 4 pt schroth harness, DOT approved... all mounts are to factory seatbelt mounts. 50 state legal, and i would definitely rather be in my harness then a factory seatbelt. if i was involved in an accident, i doubt my head could even reach the deployed airbag.

yea man it's pretty stupid not to wear a seatbelt, no offense intended, but you need someone to tell you that. Especially cuz it's illegal in most states now, not to wear one. You presumably already get a fair amount of attention from the police just cuz you have an Evo. Not wearing a seatbelt is just asking for trouble, in more than one way.

another point is that not wearing a seatbelt leaves your out of control of you vehicle, and you endanger the lives of occupants of other vehicles because of this... I hope we don't meet on the road.

I agree that it should be by choice. Does anyone here realize how much smarter and stronger our population would be if we would just let the weak and stupid kill themselves and stop protecting them with laws? We would be a lot more advanced than we are now, I tell you that.
ZAXOUR: well
ZAXOUR: what if the weak/stupid ran into the strong/intelligent
ZAXOUR: and killed them
Kee1Pride: XD
Kee1Pride: i suppose those strong/intelligent aren't so smart if they can't avoid
ZAXOUR: well

Along the bike talk, how does a state (like mine) make it illegal to not wear your seat belt, but a 130lb kid can zip past me on the freeway on his motorcycle without a helment on?

i'd recommend that u wear ur seat belt...but if u dont...idk if the evos have same thing but lancers have a small connection under the seat and u can just disconnect the "quick connect" and it stops the light and the beeping sound...but again i'd recommend u use the seatbelt

Which harness did you get?? I was looking to get a 4pt harness. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

You're one weird cookie. Anyways, the argument does not say that the strong will never die.

provide statistics that show not wearing your seatbelt is safer than wearing it and i will start to listen. for every 1 case you show me where not wearing a seat belt saved a life i will show 100 cases where a seat belt did save a life. of course there are exceptions to every rule but in general being ejected from your car doesn't provide the highest likely hood for survival. the bike analogy was the stupidest thing i've ever heard. bikes do not have seat belts obviously but there are safety measures that effectively take its place....for example helmets. the safety devices are proportional to the amount of energy and likely mechanisms of injury you are likely going to be exposed to in the event of an accident.

you could goto radio shack and get a micro recorder and switch out the beeping noise to a song or something.

or a girl moaning. lol

or sound of your car reving.

or something if it's annoying.

The force needed in a frontal crash to kill you if your chest hits the steering wheel without a seatbelt or airbag = 9 Gs (about a 15 MPH barrier crash).

The force needed in a frontal crash to kill you with a seatbelt, no airbag = 45 Gs (about a head on 35 MPH collision with a similar vehicle).

I'll wear my seatbelt, thank you. I plan on driving a little faster than 35 MPH against oncoming traffic. Glad I have an airbag, too.

BUT HEY that's just physics.

ya know, after having the seat belt law enacted in almost all the states, there has been NO PROOF WHAT-SO-EVER that that law has actually saved any more or less lives then when there wasnt a law, lol...

i for one, belive in fate, im a strong beliver in it actually. so i choose not to wear my seatbelt. my belife is that if im meant to die in a car wreck, that im going to die, i can maybe change certain things about that event but the end all of fate will be that u die...

but thats just me.

anywayz, onto the topic, heres a safe and easy way to defeat the chime. simply put the seatbelt behind the seat and plug it in. this is good for 2 reasons. 1. it stops the chime. 2. if a cop is behind u, annd he sees the strap going at an angle he will think u have ur belt on, thus it stops u (well has helped me anyway) from getting tickets too!

on a side note, everytime ive had a seatbelt on, ive been injured, one time with severe whiplash. i would have rather had my head hit the dash then deal with whiplash.

ive seen and heard of more people being injured with seatbelts (even without) because of sitting TO DAMN CLOSE TO THE FRONT OF THE CAR.

in my car, it is LAW that my seats ARE NOT to be moved forward. they are pushed back all the way for a reason. if my friends or GF even touch the bar underneath my seat i stop the car and tell them why, and if they dont like it to get out.
