quick break in question

it is 2 late for me to do anyting on my 05, but i'm planning to get a evo 9 when it comes out later this year

i just read this site
http://www.overboost.com/story.asp?id=1250

it says " When you see new cars that come with a factory fill of synthetic oil, the break-in procedure has been handled at the factory. "

does anyone have knowledge about this on our car?

Don't know about that, but I would still use the Mitsu recommended 600 mile break in.

you can bet that if mitsu is going to stick a 10 year warranty on the drivetrain, they know what they are doing when they initially put synthetic oil the engine. all these people draining their oil right away and putting in organic oil are paranoid.

my suggestion
drive the 9 , 1k miles, stay off the boost ,
1k to 1.5k drive the engine hard,
once you think or feel you broke in the engine, give it its first oil change
car is now officially broke in

so dont drin the oil or an early 500 mil oil change ?

this is how i treat my 8

stay under 5000 for first 500 then oil change
then stayed under 6000 until 1500 2nd oil change
then pretty much normal driving just not beyond 7000 then change at 3000

well, what i think:

600 miles (break-in) dont go full boost or above 4,500-5,000

1000 ? - first oil change. (use same oil what mitsu is using)

every 3000-3500 miles do oil change, I can't imagine changing oil every 5000 miles
like mitsu says.
