Got a question about my new MR

I just picked up my new MR about 2 weeks ago and I must say that it is a true canyon car.It is awsome. My question is that at about 300 miles I developed a very noticeable raddle coming from the passenger side dash or windshield.I was wondering if anybody has noticed it on their car or if anybody has heard of this.I didn't but this car for a nice quiet ride(sold a 2004 S4 to get it)but it is quite noticeable.Any answers would be appreciated. THANKS

It's actually right where the plastic of the dashboard meets the window. I banged on it a few times while driving and the sound goes away, but then park it for awhile, and then drive it again, the sound is back!!!!!

I have a rattle coming from up near the window on the drivers side. Seems like it is right along the edge also.

If you're bothered by rattles, either:

a) you are pressing the loud pedal hard enough

b) the stereo volume is set too low

c) the kids fell out

just as a quick check, i have a slight rattle between my door and the dash. when i am driving i can pry my finger in that gap to try to force the two apart a little and the rattle goes away. give that a try. it takes literally one second.

I noticed the very same thing on my 05 MR, about 300 miles and it begins to creek a couple times when I shift from 1st to 2nd. after that it dosen't seem to be noticable. is there anything I can do to either tighten or loosen any parts to get the noice to stop?

Thanks,

take it to the dealer, it is the cables for the gauge pack. I was really pissed at first and it would not stop at all, they just put more zip ties and some foam on it to stop the rattleing.

Go easy on your car till about 700 miles, i know its hard but its totally worth it. if you beat on it too early you will be adding oil as often as you fill the gas tank up.

Have fun and welcome to a group of a select few that have an MR.

yeah, mine does this, too. Mine only happens with the passenger window down, but when i roll it up, it is gone. Maybe you should check to see if that is the case.

I probably shouldn't hex it, but my MR is fairly quiet. If something minor presents itself I'm sure it can be fixed by the radio.
