Congrats on the new STI. There is no better car to get but the STI if not the EVO...at least in the same price range.

Hey your Dad must be a cool Dad. Look at it this way , if you play your cards right he may a year down the road give you his MR. Just tell him and help him with his car(modding it to get the best performance) and maybe he will help you with yours. To me they are both for the money great cars. You can show him this site and get him into his car!!
Have fun!

That was a very comendable thing that you did. STI's are nice cars, so you didn't come away with the short end of the stick. Have fun with it.

I almost bought an STI over my Evo. They are both great cars, just a bit different for all their similarities. Maybe you can trade in your STI in a few years for an Evo X!

Damn your lucky! You can easily trade cars for the weekend with your dad if you want. I say just take off the spoiler of the STi and your good to go!

Ended up choosing handling over brute power, though I miss smoking honda civics without even trying when they wanted to race street light to street light and smoked many a v-8 with my old STI. Going to keep my MR bone stock and am done with modding.

when you say "smoke", i'm sure you are talking about your perception. Most magazine tests have both cars within a .10 of a second of each other. I wouldn't call that "smoking".

When I first got my EVO, I race a STi and we were back and forth, he'll win one and i'll win one. Its all on the driver, this was from a dig.

Enjoy your STi man. My boyfriend has one and it's nice, fun to drive, and sounds incredible with that boxter rumble. But you get ~325 whp before your li'l turbo is at max capacity. Slap in a 20g and you'll be gravy.

I have to agree with you, my buddy has a regular wrx, while no sti it is pretty strong, he has the usual bolt ons full exhaust, up pipe and so on, and the boost is about maxed out on the thing, Think he was spiking to 17psi and running around 16 till the very top. With his new cobb tuning ecu reflash tool (Cant think of the name at the moment) his car would pull mine slowly but surely. Now that I am tuned and have 272's I am sure that wont be the case, but around town etc. The ride is nicer and the low end is nice in traffic and if you let out of the clutch to fast on a hard launch it makes up a little more for the mistake. I love both cars.. Right now they both own the price range i feel. Nothing comes close in my book for the money. Dont sweat it man, just be glad you got an STI, there are alot of people who'd give their eye teeth to have either car in any condition
