sad day, traded in 03 evo for 04 sti.
So I get a call from my dad this morning saying that his friend at the mitsu dealer offered him a new silver MR for 33,500(under MSRP), and he wanted to trade in my recently wrecked and fixed black evo 8 with 27,000 because they were offering blue book for trade in. The catch was that I would take over in payments for his 04 sti, which is actually helping me out and much appreciated. He's driven my evo which has RMR exhaust, intake and rear sway bar and liked it alot more than his sti, even when it was stock. His sti only has 10k miles and is bone stock except for factory short shifter and slotted brembo rottors. His new MR is beautiful and IMO the contrast of the dark BBS on the silver looks much better than on the graphite gray, I'm jelaous. Off course I agreed to the propostion since it was financially better and my father has been more than good to me and he deserves it. When I was driving home from mitsu in my black sti I started to miss my evo. The bumpy and ridgid ride was gone along with loud deep exhaust and the spool and intake pshhh was gone
But what I missed most was the incredible feeling of being conected to the road and incredible handling and steering response which is very superior to the sti's. I had also just ordered a carbing CF front lip which shipped out today, so now my dad has an early bday gift for his MR which made him happy. The sti isn't so bad and I was thinking about modding it at MZM in Austin. But the more I think about it the more likely I will save my $$ and trade the sti for a new RS. So I have switched over to the dark side for the time being. Now I have to get to know the suby world and get more intimate with my sti because I don't know that much about it compared to the evo. I'll post pictures of the new MR and sti sometime, the MR looks so much nicer IMO.

hey don't sweat it. sti is a great car, although different feel from evo. i'm sure as much as u miss the evo, u'll find something to enjoy about the sti. personally i like both cars, but what won me over to evo was that connected feeling i've read and heard so much about, i didn't even bother test driving the sti. try and have some fun with ur scooby doo.

Well, Subaru's are nick-named Scooby's. So Doo is on add on to Scooby because of the show Scooby Doo.
And for christ's sake its a great car!!!!
what do I have to do to convince you...
...for some reason that face is really funny...

Dude,
You will grow to love your STI. Has much better low end torque and torque and power is linear throughout the entire rev range. Low end power is much stronger and faster than the evo. I had a 2004 black STI with over $10,000 in mods invested in it. Traded it in for a MR and love the MR much more than the STI but miss the low end power of my sti. My old STI could have smoked my MR from a dead stop, no doubt. Much more power but handling is not as great as the MR. My stock MR could smoke my old STI if you took them both on a winding mountain road, but the evo is no match for the STI on a straightaway from a dead stop. Both cars have their pros and cons, just depends what you like. Ended up choosing handling over brute power, though I miss smoking honda civics without even trying when they wanted to race street light to street light and smoked many a v-8 with my old STI. Going to keep my MR bone stock and am done with modding.

Dude I think you got away with a great deal! You just dumped your previously wrecked [as in never the same again] car for a brand new fresh car. I would've done it. Plus you're doing something for your father as well.
