someone explain this to me...

Inside the new SCC May '05 there is an article on the FQ-400. In the 2nd to last paragraph it says the price of the 400 is $91,048 and the FQ-340 is $63,927 that is a difference of $27,121 why???? By reading this article all I understand is that between the 2 the only change if 65 horses. How in the hell can 65 horses cost $27,121? I may be stupid so can someone fill me in.

On a side not this mag is a must get it's the AWD issue. There is an article on Nismo's new 500hp Skyline GT-R

65 HP with a warrenty. But I agree, the Brits are crazy. They pay more for a 260 HP bare bones EVO than we pay for a top of the line MR.

Keith

PS: I have more power with the stock turbo then they have with a massive upgraded turbo with horrible lag... beats me why they went with that setup.

The pound is a very overpriced currency. You need to check the BMI or TLI. Or in this case, the MLEI (Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Index) and you'll see that the car prices in Britain are ridiculously high.

Don't forget that the list prices in the UK include all taxes. By itself, that adds about 15% to the list price of the car. Our taxes get added on later, so the list prices seem cheaper.

FQ400 has a fully built engine (HKS internals I think) and bigger turbo. Also, I think it has uprated brakes. Still a lot of money though. And Motec ECU.

Well, it's not like we do it on purpose . We get taxed highly on everything. Even our petrol is around $6 a gallon and we pay VAT (Value Added Tax) of 17.5% on almost everything we buy. I also believe we get taxed higher on imported cars, but I might be wrong on that.

have you seen the specs on a FQ400? There are tons of parts that they threw in it compared to the FQ340. Better clutch, brakes, engine parts, carbon fiber pieces...etc
