Xede or DynoFlash...which is BEST?

Just curious what the overall feeling is regarding the DynoFlash vs. Vishnu's Xede for a stock EVO MR?

Does one offer better programming than the other?
Are the CAS replications the same?

Thanks!

Besides the STI vs. Evos threads this has to be the 2nd most talked about question. You will find unless info with a search.

I think that it is unfair to compare the two. The dyno flash is an ecu re-flash. If you compared the Dynoflash version to the Vishne ECU re-flash.. then it would be a more worthwhile comaprison.

The XEDE is a piggy back fuel/timing computer, similar to a S-AFC, but with more options, features, and complexity. The XEDE can be used in combination with an ECU Re-flash.

The ECU reflashes from dynoflash and Vishnu have both had many successes and some failures. The XEDE (from what I have researched) is the best Piggy Back unit available short of going with a stand alone engine management system.

Watch this turn into a pissing match between fans of one or the other.

Talking

Let me reminece.........i had a reflashed ecu by RMR, and my wife bought me a SAFC-2 for my birth day. after trying to splice in the safc, it wouldnt work. i then called Rhys at RMR and he told me that all the info the safc has in it is also in the ecu. he said DONT mix the two (flashed ecu and SAFC2). but this was 2 years ago, maybe now you can do both. If i'm going to **** in this contest.........I say XEDE piggy back and the XEDE flash is the best combo in my opinion. I think with the 2 "boxes" you can accomplish more than with 1 "Box". (ECU). i think (again my opinion only) the AMS stand alone is finiky and has to be tunes with drastic weather changes. ie humidity, barometric pressure etc...but once tunes it works fine. get the XEDE/XEDE Flash and spend your time ripping up the road, not in the garage re-tunning it. My 2c

new Dyno Flash with boost control (yet unnamed) for evo MR and all 05's - holds a steady 20 psi. 280 whp with no other mods. Drives like stock - works perfectly every time, costs $199. IMHO - no piggy back can add any advantage over a properly tuned reflash.

Is the boost control feature with the Dynoflash only for the 05?

^^ agreed...there is already enough info on these products on this board to make the decision for yourself...

you will be much more satisfied if you do all the research yourself and pick the software thats best for you rather than the software that someone else told you was better

Al?,

When you say holds a steady 20PSI do you mean at WOT it holds 20PSI to redline? And if it does hold 20PSI without backing down to 15-16PSI like the stock ECU programming does as your RPMS rise at WOT, will this diminish the life of the Turbo?

Also, how easy is it for the dealership to detect the reflash on the car and then complain about it and attempt to void the warranty?

Thank-you for all your input.

Also you said you are getting 280WHP, what is this as far as a gain over stock? I think I have seen most people showing 240WHP. So is the $199 flash gaining you almost 40HP on premium gas alone?

Also, does the flash require me to remove the restrictor pill?
