Chargespeed bumper = junk! Beware!

Did my first autox with the chargespeed front bumper and flares. the first cone i hit it shattered the bumper and part of the flare. i hit it on the driver side and it broke the bumper in three different places all the way to the passenger side. when i got this kit i knew that there was a great chance that i'd break it. what a piece of junk. if you plan on autoxing your evo do not get this kit. if it's just for show and street where the chance of you hitting something is slim, then i guess its fine. but i've had other bumpers and have hit plenty of cones with no problems.

anyway heres some bad pics. you have to look very closely for the breaks. if i didn't have it clearbraed, the thing wouldn't have held together.

Fiberglass and pylons don't mix. If the body kits are made of FG, or any CF this will happen everytime. OEM abs plastic is heavier but much stronger than any of these aftermarket materials. I personally would not use them, unless my ride was full race.

actually i have had other fg kits with no probs hitting cones. the bumper literally i think is one layer of fiber. it is really thin. others are multiple layers. helps with strength.

But you must admit the fitment is nice compared to some of the other sloppy body kit makers in the U.S.

Some front facias are made very thin, obviously the one depicted was. My point is FG is not forgiving as the likes of abs period. It is soley designed to lighten. One can not expect it to yield the same structural integrity as OEM does.

man sorrie 2 hear that...but as kmxxbadboy said...fitment is really nice...i have fiberglass body kit...and like its not painted or nethin (cuz of snow and salt)...and i've had it on for a while now i only see small cracks...as i've hit lots of stuff esp the time there was 17inches of snow...but its holding up pretty gud...but fitment is terrible

Correct, Most if not all aftermarket kits never fit properly. You have to massage them to.
