Exclamation US Evo VII unveiled at LA Auto show (have pics)

So I had the oportunity to attend the La Auto show a day before the official opening. It was a blast. Not only was the US spec EVOVII there but so was the EVO WRC car and Richard Burns' Championship WRC Subaru. Great show for rally fans.

Anyway none of the Mitsu staff wanted to comment on any specs regarding the Evo and were more concerned with some junk concept car they had there. You can see the full euro intercooler which looks to be unchanged and also the recaro seats were still intact. Brakes and wheels however looked differant. Just want to pass on more pics and details. This car looks an awful lot like the one I posted pics of several weeks ago. Who knows!

Nice pics smolvar. Thanks for posting them here.

What do you mean that the brakes and wheels look different?

Not the US Spec

The car unveiled at the LA show was not the US Spec. It is a car brought over from Europe. I know because Rhys Millen drove the car out onto the stage and its the same car as we have here at out shop. We actually have 2. To be honest, nobody at Mitsu. really knows what the US Spec will be. No matter what they tell you, They are still trying to figure everything out.

That's kinda what I thought, with their "more than 250 HP".

Angry Not the real thing :-(

Well now I'm bummed out about it not being the real thing.

I thought we were close to getting "the real deal" EVO. Well I guess that explains the Mitsu staff not knowing anything about that car.

Thanks for the info.

on cars.com it says

The car was driven across the stage by championship rally veteran Rhys Millen. A voluble drum and dance troupe clad in matching red jumpsuits performed prior to the car’s unveiling.

LOL! Yeah, red jumpsuits don't exactly match a yellow Evo. You two sure you were attending the same event/looking at the same car?

All the logos are chrome now (at least in the US).
They dropped the red logo.
They also do not put the word "Mitsubishi" on any car now.

I think the silver looks to damn tacky. They should make it red god dammit. This is a ****ing turbocharged car with 250+ ponies, not a ****ty Galant.

As far as believing all the rumors, I wouldn't believe everything you see or read.
